Abstract

The article discusses the cultivation of eggplant in buckets, which allows you to turn even a small plot or balcony into a fertile oasis. Two varieties were selected: the “Violet Lunga” and “Vicar” varieties. We planted them in buckets with a capacity of 10-15 liters in the first year on April 25, and in the second year on May 4. For the first two weeks, we watered moderately, then installed a drip irrigation system through which water was supplied directly to the roots. We ensured optimal temperature conditions of 25-30°C day and night. Every 10 days, we added ash powder and potassium sulfate to the water, and also fed chicken manure 2-3 times. We loosened the soil to a depth of 5-6 cm. We watered every 10 days. The harvest of "Violet Lunga" was on average 4-5 kg, and "Vicar" 5-6 kg. gave us a bucket. Experiments have shown that growing eggplant varieties "Violet Lunga" and "Vicar" in a bucket is quite effective, and those who want to grow this crop can freely do so on a small plot or on a balcony.
